Functional Training
You have probably heard of Functional Training, but do you know why it is becoming today’s major trend in the Fitness industry?
Functional Training, in a nutshell, is all about how you train your body to handle real-life situations. Everyday chores require an extremely complex, coordinated set of movements that use multiple joint actions working in an orchestrated sequence. If you simply train each of these parts individually, your body is not prepared to operate as a whole unit.
For example, if you work out on a set of machines at your typical gym, you may be seeing positive results in your endurance, strength and weight control. However, if you need to place your carry-on luggage in the overhead bin of a plane, will your body be ready to squat down, bend over, lift and place the item above your head without fatigue or risk of injury?
The programs offered at Fitness Advantage incorporate total body movements. The key elements of training include endurance, coordination, agility, strength, speed, power, flexibility and balance working together to train the whole body.
Whether the performance is tied to competitive sports, recreational or general life activities, Fitness Advantage has a program for you.
With trained experts, you will identify your weaknesses and develop a specialized functional training program which will strengthen every element of your kinetic chain. Our proven individual, small or large group functional training programs will allow you to work so you can move effortlessly, efficiently and feel great!
I started working with Fitness Advantage after a health challenge and saw dramatic results with individual sessions as well as Pilates and group fitness classes. My trainer always makes it fun and different in each of her training sessions. In a year and a half I have never been bored. I now send my rehab clients that have completed their physical therapy to Fitness Advantage to get the full strengthening, coordination, balance and endurance training that they need. They individualize each clients program to fit their fitness levels and goals. I recommend them highly.
